FAQ for Portrait sessions

What is included in the session fee?

The sitting fee is for the creation of your portraits, the time spent with you and preparation of your images before you see them. Any product that you wish to purchase ( excluding prizes, offers etc) will be additional.

Q How long does session last?

Our location sessions can last up to two hours, but if there are young children involved that time can often be guided through them. Studio sessions are approximately up to 60 minutes and up to 2 hours if you are having a Make over.

Q Where will my pictures be taken?

For location shoots your portrait session will normally be at your home or another meaningful location, or you may like to visit the Studio or use the parks and countryside near the studio in Horringer. The make over and newborn shoots are always done inside the Studio

Q How many people can I have in my portrait session?

working on location means that we are rarely limited by the number of people who can involved in your session. AS long as we know in advance how many people are going to be in the portrait and their relationship to each other and in the case of children how well they get on.

In the studio

we can accommodate up to 4 adults comfortably . At each session Rosemarie takes a variety of images and pose different settings and in the different groups that you have told us about in advance Please note: That due to health and safety reasons it is not possible to accommodate spectators at the studio.

And for copyright reasons we operate a strict no Phone

or other recording device to to used whilst at the studio If you have to take an urgent call we respectfully ask you to step outside the studio to take it. We also ask that you do not take images during the location shoots on the day.

Q What happens if we can not make our appointment?

Your session time is specially reserved for you. We appreciate that sometimes people become ill, and if this occurs, we will try and help as much as we can to re-arrange your appointment. If you do need to change your appointment for any reason, please give us at least 7 days notice and we will be happy to re-book for no extra charge. Less than 7 days notice may incur a charge of up to £50 depending on the type of shoot.

Q What happens if the weather is bad?

For location shoots we check the weather forecasts daily for the week ahead. If we think the weather will be too bad to continue ( freezing rain, black clouds, hurricane etc..) then we will arrange another appointment. But as an experienced photographer Rosemarie is able to shoot in many different lighting and weather conditions and achieve fabulous results.

Q How should I prepare for the Portrait?

There are different levels of preparation for each type of portrait session. Newborns and baby don’t require too much, aside from making sure that the baby is fed and well rested, But all other types of portraits will require some level of preparation as can be seen in our Dressing for success guides which will be sent to you once you have booked your session. The most important thing to remember is whatever you choose to wear is well fitting not too tight to loose and that you feel comfortable wearing it.

Location portrait sessions:

Wear something that is flattering to you but try and keep it casual. We find that the best images are taken with people who wear day to day clothing. Try to wear colours that complement rather than clash- vivid red in not kind colour. No writing or large logos on clothing unless you are looking for a ‘fashion’ look rather than a more timeless look. Ladies please wear ‘daytime’ make-up i.e. not too dark or sparkling. Long or 3/4 sleeved tops or dress’s are more flattering: avoid short sleeved or sleeveless tops. Bring hats, gloves, scarf. pashmina etc

Studio Portraits:

If doing you own make-up we suggest that you apply it to give your skin a smooth even colour, wear blusher and define your lips and eyes, no glitter in the make-up. False lashes if you usually wear them can really enhance your eyes. Wear longer sleeved tops, not sleeves. If you have any specific ideas of your own that you would like to use, do not hesitate to let us know before you session.

No. You are having a portrait session with us as a professional Photographer who has years of training and experience, whose job it is to create stunning pictures, which you would not otherwise be able to capture. So we insist that we are the only camera or video users during our portrait sessions  and at  the viewing appointment.
